As the weather heats up, it’s tempting to limit your beauty regimen to a swipe of a ponytail. Yes, summer beauty should be pared down, fresh, light and fun. And in warm weather, a little goes a long way. But stuffing strands into a scrunchie might not be the best strategy for achieving summer chic. 2. Blondes play it cool
There’s nothing like a cool, champagne hue to lower the heat of summer. Mocha lowlights keep this look dimensional and real-looking. Who says vanilla is boring? This summer, it’s the blonde flavor of choice.
3. Fringe benefits
It’s the quickest way to make over a ‘do’, which might be why so many models carved out bangs this season. There are great options for every face and style—from a short, gamine, choppy fringe to a sexy side sweep or a squared-off Mod look. To prevent the dreaded bang pouf, use a paddle-brush rather than a round brush to blow dry, or run dry strands through a flat iron to eliminate creases or bumps.

Manage your hair from the effects of Chlorine

Here are some tips on how to manage your hair from the effects of Chlorine. Since Summer is here many of you gals will be spending a lot of time in the pool and it won't take long before you realize that the chlorine build up can be a real issue. Chlorine can not only dry your hair, but it can cause your ends to appear more damaged, and build up on your hair. The build up feels unpleasant and makes hair dull, hard to style and for you blondes out there, sometimes green!!!

Here are three easy steps to prevent chlorine from causing problems. 1)Wet your hair thoroughly before entering the pool whether at home or using the shower at the pool. The most important thing to remember is: for chlorine not to adhere to your hair, you must 2) put a conditioner on your hair to protect it from chlorine, concentrating on the ends. 3) Wash your hair thoroughly, immediately upon exiting the pool every time with a clarifying shampoo and follow with a moisturizing conditioner. I recommend the Zerran Equalizer, which I carry at the salon. Zerran can only be found at professional hair salons.

Although shampooing often and getting into a regular clarifying routine is a great way to start to combat the chlorine problem most of my clients say that it doesn't completely get rid of the chlorine build up in your hair. Many salons can do an in-salon treatment to help remove the chlorine build up. I recommend that my clients with chlorine issues come in for a treatment every 4-8 weeks.
